I’m not sure what result I want
We often face a situation when a client has a project, but he has limited knowledge regarding the details of the project.
At Faraday 3D we offer a simple solution to this problem. We provide inspirational exterior photos. This enables us to deliver greater service to our clients.
Let’s take a look at one of the projects we did in the past.
What is “cool” and what is “beautiful”?
One of our clients (Omatalo) was designing a big residential area with one-story and two-story houses, of the same design.
The client asked us to create several 3D exterior renderings. Usually, we require detailed information about the project. However, the only information we got from the client was a map and a request stating “this should be very beautiful and cool”.
The words “beautiful and cool” are subjective… To be able to understand what the client wanted we had to carry out several tasks.
What we did
At first, we chose a camera angle and a house that we were going to visualize. This was approved by the client.
When we created a clay model, to demonstrate how the house would look from this particular angle. The model was approved by the client. Next, we created another version from a different angle which was also approved by the client.
At this stage, one of the most important questions appeared – what should we do with the background? Should we make it green grass without any detail? Is there anything in front of the road? We can’t leave empty space, as in reality, there is always something close to the house.
We devised a solution; we did an internet search of photos of back gardens and downloaded 50 different images. We presented these to the client and asked them to select the image they wanted on their 3d renders.

Let’s take a look at the original picture just to compare clay-model with final result:
As you can see, we made this backyard a relaxed zone, we added children playing, sofas and space for a fire. Without these details, the picture would look empty, boring, and lifeless.
Following this, we created a nighttime 3d rendering.

Having selected some options found on the Internet, we thought carefully about all the details, including; the landscape, lighting, people and the atmosphere. The client chose the most suitable version for his needs and also received some realistic, warm, cozy photos that met the needs of our client’s target audience.
So when you don’t know what do you want for your final result, the best rules is to browse through the internet for some inspiration. Decide on the concept: for example, if this is a country house, where it is situated? What kind of surroundings are there? Is it a house in the forest, in the city, close to the river, etc.
Decide on the atmosphere: is it modern or an old fashioned country house? Find similar pictures, photos or 3D exterior renderings from the Internet.
We will do everything we can to ensure you receive a realistic 3D exterior rendering!
